Dollar Accounts

We all like to receive an AdSense dollar check regularly but how do you cash your AdSense dollar commission payments without paying through the nose in commission and banking charges?

AdSense income is in dollars.  If you live outside the USA you need ideally an international dollar account to pay these checks into (or as we say in the UK, dollar cheques.)

In my experience trying to find a bank that offered a low-cost dollar account can be very difficult.

Many banks advertise international dollar accounts but when you read the small print there are often snags.

You find you need a minimum dollar deposit of $2,000 or something or you need to pay regular bank charges that can eat away at dollar earnings if you are not one of the big AdSense dollar earners.  Opening a dollar account to see your AdSense dollar income frittered away in dollar charges is insulting.

In the UK I researched several different banks and found that the most cost effective route for cashing dollar cheques / checks was to go to my normal bank (Lloyds Bank) and just pay them in over the counter.  I got stung for exchange rates a little but a lot more for the process of presenting my dollar check in America.

Over time I intend to provide detailed information about how to cash dollar checks without paying too much in charges.  But it could be easier and simpler just to open a US dollar bank account with one of the big international banks.
