Affiliate Sensor

This program is one of the cleverer ones around at the moment.  It gives you greater control over the sort of ads that appear on your pages than you get with Google.

How it works is as follows.

  1. You sign up for the service (It's free to join and easy too.)

  2. You enter some keywords that are related to your web pages

  3. It looks for Clickbank products that are relevant to these keywords

  4. It compiles ads for these Clickbank products in a format similar to AdSense ads (and you can control color schemes etc. just as you can for AdSense)

  5. It then compiles a dedicated piece of JavaScript that causes these ads to be displayed on your site

  6. You paste this code into your site, just as you do with the AdSense code
Just as for Adsense, when someone clicks on one of these ads, they go to a sales page about the product.  But this is where it gets different:

If someone makes a purchase, 9 times out of 10 you get the full commission and this can be up to $75 a time.

You don't get paid for the click but you do get paid the commission on any sales that arise from the clicks.

What's with this 9 times out of 10 stuff?

Well the system was developed by Jonathan Leger who's one smart guy and he likes to get paid for his efforts so in essence he earns 5% of your income*.  This seems pretty reasonable to me, especially when you compare this program with AdSense.

And the other 5%?

This is where the program gets meaty.  Have a look at these ads.

You see at the bottom there is a link that says "Ads by Affiliate Sensor"?  Well when anyone clicks on that link, they get taken to the Affiliate Sensor sign up page but a link is included that tells the system that your website was the source of the sales lead.

Now if someone signs up for the Affiliate Sensor program via the link on your page, you qualify for 5% of anything they earn.  This creates an automatic affiliate downstream for you.

What I like about the system:

  • You can promote it as hard as you like.

  • It costs you nothing to join.

  • A click can potentially earn you up to $75

  • You can run as many ads as you like on your page.

  • You have total control over which ads appear.

  • It has a built in affiliate marketing element.

  • It provides you with detailed reporting data so you can see where your ads are working best.

What I don't like about it

  • You don't necessarily earn any money from a click

  • It restricts your advertising to adverts about Clickbank products

  • You have to be a member of Clickbank to sign up

The Clickbank product range is enormous and growing fast so you shouldn't have much difficulty finding products that are a natural fit on your page. If you aren't already part of Clickbank you probably should be and you can join via the Affiliate Sensor pages.

The other useful feature of this system is that it shows you not only the ads that will appear BEFORE you post the code into your pages, you also get to see the ranking of the product in Clickbank.

The reason this matters is because you really want to promote products that are selling well.  A product ranked #1 in its sector is going to be easier to sell than a product ranked 56.

My advice: join, find a group of ads that are high ranking and make money!

Good luck.

PS This program is compatible with AdSense.

* I asked Jonathan for more details on how the payment allocation process worked. Here's what he said:

"The mechanics are handled by a pseudo-randomly generated number and over time (one day for high traffic, perhaps a few weeks for low traffic) smooth out to 5% for me and 5% for the person who signed you up. So for your 9 click example, I can't tell you exactly how it will be distributed, but most likely with only 9 clicks they would all go to you. Over 100 or 1000 clicks it will definitely smooth out."

What this means is that 18 times out of 20 on average, your Clickbank id would be "attached" to a sale and you'd get the commission. The other 2 clicks would be allocated to Jonathan and whoever signed you up respectively.
