Experiment 2: FreeViral. Do free traffic generating systems work?

This experiment is an on-going test of one of the many free traffic generation systems on the internet.  Called FreeViral it offers a guaranteed 1 million visitors. I thought I'd test it. Many viral marketing tools are out there. Some of these viral marketing tools will be better than others and I will be running more tests in time and reporting on them to my mailing list.

Current FreeViral results as of 9th September 2004

Initial assessment: This shows the number of people who have signed up for FreeViral below me.  In doing so they will have been forced to visit my special Free Viral landing page. So the viral marketing system is working, much more slowly than predicted by the suppliers - no surprise there.  Initially the growth curve had an exponential element but it certainly tailed off in August.  The question is: will it accelerate again now that the holiday season is over?
