AdSense WebSearch
How AdSense and
WebSearch combine to
increase your AdSense Income
Here's the good news. If you install the
WebSearch facility on your site, when someone does a search they
see the usual AdWords style ads alongside the search results.
But get this: YOU get the AdSense revenue whenever
someone clicks on one of these ads that appears as a result of the
search. It's just like owning your own personal Google.
The initial WebSearch announcement did not make it absolutely
clear that you earned a share of these revenues but here's what
Google states on the AdSense log in page:
"profit from clicks on AdSense targeted advertising that
appears on search results pages"
Four further points:
- You can choose whether your WebSearch form optionally allows
people to search just your site or the whole web
- The Search results pages show 8 AdWords/AdSense ads
in 2 blocks of 4 - one block at the top of the page, and 1
block at the bottom. This further increases your chances
of earning money from clicks.
- WebSearch comes with its own Channel reporting function
which means you can place it on several different pages or
websites and track the income that each one generates.
- The default radio button selection is to search only your
website. If someone does this and you don't have any
relevant information on your site, they will still see ads
that relate to their search. In fact there are up to 9
ads that appear at a time.
What this means is that they are even more likely to click on
the Ads because they are the only useful items that show up in
the search.
